Moving people and supplies to support a region or state impacted by a disaster is never an easy proposition.  It takes a coordinated system to accomplish the task.  Just such a system exists with the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC).

I think the challenge in the future will be integrating all the technologies that are coming online to include social media.  The possibility of adding an international component to EMAC sounds exciting!
