Everyday Survival Skills for Emergency Managers

If it worked for someone stranded for over a year it can work for you.

Today I sat in on an opening plenary session for IT professionals sponsored by Government Technology Magazine  Interestingly, the speaker was a survivalist speaking about how to survive in the wild--with very few tools to starts with.  He used the Ernest Shackelton expedition that has been written extensively about and documented in film and video to share mental tools for survival.

I've seen these ideas work for me as an Army Ranger in the field and as an emergency manager.  The game of life has physical aspects to it, but in reality it is all about leadership and your mental/thinking approach to life.

See the bullet points below that he shared for us as individuals.
