Give Me Liberty and Death

You don't have to choose, you can have both!

Just an observation about protests concerning the "stay at home" orders that many states had implemented. One of the messages was that forcing people to "stay at home" was unconstitutional. We want our total freedom. Red lights are for other people who don't know how to drive safely. All those food inspections -- I don't need them, I deserve the right to eat tainted meat, etc.

Laws that benefit society, but get in the way of my personal freedoms, are an infringement on a person's individual liberties.

At one protest a guy was carrying a "Give me Liberty or Give me Death" flag. Attributed to Patrick Henry (I wonder if the guy carrying the sign could have named the speaker) back in 1775.

More appropriately, in the context for carrying the flag I think it would read better to say, "Give me Liberty and Death." You don't have to choose in this disaster -- you can have your liberty and have death with it. It might not be one or the other -- you can be a "winner" and get both!

For these people, I recommend riding your motorcycle without a helmet. You have the right to do so!
