It seemed like a good idea at the time!

I might have alluded to this event in the distant past. Let's just say that there was a large dead whale on a beach that needed to be disposed of. Someone had the bright idea to blow it up into smaller pieces. What was missed was the estimated blast zone of whale blubber that actually could have killed people, but fortunately did not.
