Ice on the Move: Largest Calving Event Ever Filmed

Ah, I think climate change is real ...

The cherry blossoms are in bloom in Washington, D.C. — a month early, and back in my hometown in northern Illinois, the temperature was a high of 60 degrees on Monday. If we had a day like that back when I was in high school, we'd go out and play golf before the course was even open for the season.

Then there is this video from Chasing Ice that shows the largest glacier calving event ever filmed. The piece that broke off was about the size of the lower tip of Manhattan, NYC and much taller/deeper than the buildings there.

The rate of ice melt, is a big deal, especially in Greenland. I won't live to see the full impact, emergency managers entering the workforce today will be dealing with the implications and climate adaptation strategies in their lifetime.

And, it was my sister, Cheryl Derman, who shared the video link above.
