I've shared before that insurance is one area of my financial life that I've done right over the years. Property, auto, life (which is really DEATH insurance), special hazard insurance. I've always been vested in the concept of insurance — even before I became an emergency manager. Not everyone buys into that lifestyle, due to risk perception or personal economics.
