New FEMA Recovery Planning Guide

Recovery planning begins now.

I've often said that for emergency managers, recovery planning is the bridge still not crossed. Most agencies have not delved extensively into recovery planning for the community — that goes beyond administering FEMA recovery programs.

Now there is a new Pre-Disaster Recovery Planning Guide from FEMA. The Recovery Diva pointed it out and remarked, "It would have been nice if FEMA mentioned this publicly, but I found it on a LinkedIn posting. As readers know, the Diva tracks recovery sources closely but never saw mention of this report issued a couple of weeks ago."

Personally I think one of the factors for that happening is that Craig Fugate is out of the picture. I'm thinking he would have tweeted about it or mentioned it somewhere and it would have been picked up.
