I also sent the link to someone I was talking to last night about the dearth of people to fill the jobs that are advertised, and where have all the people gone? There is a reference in the article about making "big life changes," and I think that is one of the significant issues as people YOLO their lives after experiencing 18 months of the pandemic.

There is also a bit there directly applicable to emergency managers and how our body and mind deal with a crisis, and the need for downtime.
