Quote: Complex Problems--Simple Solutions

Most solutions sound easy, but are not true.

"For every complex problem, there's a solution that is simple, neat, and wrong." H.L. Mencken  Americans love simple solutions.  If there is a problem no matter how big or complex it is we “think” there is an easy answer.  Even I can be sucked into this game of easy solutions.

Here’s a list of some of my beliefs that you can challenge:

  • Good teachers will change schools for the better.  Improve the teacher core and you will have better educated students.

  • Everything rises and falls on leadership.  Show me a good leader and I’ll show you a good organization, and visa versa.

  • Assault weapons are not helping with gun violence in the USA.

  • Too much water is better than not enough water when it comes to gardening.

  • New car purchases keep you from buying someone else’s problems

  • Try to buy for quality without paying extra for the name on the item.

  • You get what you pay for, including taxes…

Solving homelessness, poverty and hunger are more difficult and complex problems than the ones I’ve listed above.  It will take a combination of efforts to solve those and a committed populace interested in solving them.
