When I was younger I liked the idea that facts are facts and if you want to get to the truth of a matter you just needed to know the facts. Life is not that simple. While what I believed earlier is true I've learned that in today's information world there is also the capacity to distort the truth and present only part of the story and then skew the facts to support your position.
If you state and restate this position again and again it becomes the truth. Truth then takes a backseat to perception. Which gets us to the end result which is my quote above. People don't really want the facts, they want their position justified. By selectively choosing where you get your news you can achieve a deluded happiness in thinking you are right.
