Success Breeds Jealousy

It is human nature, so be careful.

“After every victory you have more enemies.” Jeanette Winterson

I call jealousy the adult sin. Yes, children look at what others have and want it, but this is more coveting than jealousy.

My one recommendation for people is that the more successful you become, there will be some who are looking for and wishing you to fail. Call it human nature, I guess, but everyone likes the little guy who is struggling, but become a Microsoft, Starbucks or Amazon and you become the bad guy.

The above applies to big states, counties and cities. Remember you have sister and brother entities that do the same functions but with fewer resources. While you may be big and successful, the time may come that you need to rely on your partners who collectively have the capability to come and help you.
