Red Guide to Recovery

A book that pulls together information that a family might need post disaster.

Anyone who follows this blog knows that I like the digital world (except when it is not working), which my laptop died ten days ago and is in Idaho in intensive care right now.  But there are some things I like in hard copy, so when Sam Spiegel shared a copy of the book Red Guide to Recovery with me I figured I'd at least give it a look see.

Overall, I like it.  This is not just your how to apply for individual assistance (IA) book, rather it lists what programs exist starting with you home insurance and what steps you should be taking immediately after suffering damages to your property.  The version I was given was for California so the contact directory is focused on that state.

To buy a bunch of these would be expensive, but I could see having a stockpile of them to handout to people when they have experienced a loss.  San Diego has used them for the fires they had a few years back.  I'm going to take the one I have and add it to my family/home disaster kit.
