Seattle Times Op-ed: Surviving Future Disaster Depends on How We Plan and Build Today

We can be our own worst enemy.

We can be our own worst enemy when it comes to disasters. With climate change impacts being felt every day, where we build, what we build and how we build will become even more important. This is the subject of an op-ed, Surviving future disaster depends on how we plan and build today, that I penned for the Seattle Times.

I admit that I'm not very hopeful for our collective future. We seem to be very comfortable with assuming risks that don't seem very close "today" to impacting our lives tomorrow.
