Seismic Neglect in Washington State

No meaningful actions are being taken to protect people and property.

After we have a big earthquake in Washington state there will be much wringing of hands and plenty of promises about what needs to be done. Meanwhile, before the earthquake no one is doing much of anything at all.

This series of articles in the Seattle Times documents the “Seismic Neglect” in this state.

No one is ringing the alarm bell. We continue on our merry way, with a strategy of hoping it won’t happen on our watch.

As the old quote goes, “hope is not a strategy,” but it seems to be the common denominator across the board.

Have a nice day!
