Small Businesses Can't Get the Funding They Need

A program without sufficient funding is not a program. It is a tease!

On Sunday, the Planet Money podcast The Indicator had this on Small Businesses On Their Own

It is a pretty short podcast, only 10 minutes. But, it lays out the issues of getting funding from the Small Business Administration (SBA) using the programs passed by Congress in response to the coronavirus. Basically, little money and many frustrations.

If you want to know how the SBA works in "normal times," you can watch this edition of Disaster Zone TV that contains an interview with a Regional SBA Administrator. The problem is one of scale. There are insufficient people, systems and funding to meet all the needs.

I believe the mantra of "Promise less, deliver more" was violated.
