The Next Year (or Two) of the Pandemic

We are in this for the long haul.

This is not how I planned to spend 2020-2022. It was not part of the game plan — at all. However, here we are — hunkered down and living with the coronavirus.

This morning I listened to The Daily podcast The Next Year (or Two) of the Pandemic.

It is a sobering assessment of the future. One biggie for me is the timeline for the development of a vaccine. The 18 months has been drilled into my brain. In reality, the fastest any vaccine has been developed is four years. So, 18 months would be lightning speed — thus, not likely.

As noted, the reporter was interviewed earlier in March and his predictions based on covering infectious diseases for decades was pretty much spot-on. I had shared that podcast earlier here in this blog.
