Bismarck, N.D.’s Mobile App Goes Live

The city’s smartphone-based app is meant to make city-resident interactions easier and allows for streamlined bill payments.

(TNS) — Bismarck, N.D., has a new mobile app, which is intended to make it easier for citizens to connect with the city, as well as provide quick access to meeting agendas and emergency information, among other features.

"This is your on-the-go connection tool where you can get easy access to some of the most-used items on the city website," said Gloria David, Bismarck's public information officer.

The "City of Bismarck" app, which is for smartphones, tablets and hand-held devices, can also be used to make a water bill payment.

"If you want to pay your water bill, you just go in here, put in your information, and you'll have quick easy access to paying your water bill," David said.

Additional features include easy access to the city's social media accounts, department calendars, bid openings and employment opportunities.

"It's kind of what they (citizens) have been asking for … to be able to get something that's handheld and quick and easy to move around in, and pay your water bill," said Bismarck City Commissioner Steve Marquardt. "It looks good."
