Kentucky Renews Child Support Payment Processing Contract

The Commonwealth of Kentucky's Division of Child Support exercised the third of four one-year renewal options, extending the contract with Tier Technologies Inc. through November 30, 2005.

This renewal permits Tier to continue to provide payment processing at its centralized collection site for Kentucky's child support agency. During the fiscal year ended September 30, 2003, Tier processed in excess of $285 million in child support payments for the child-support agency. Tier has provided payment processing services to Kentucky's child support agency since 1997.

"The Division of Child Support is responsible for collecting and distributing child support payments," said Wanda Kinnaird, Director of the Division of Child Support. "We are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with Tier in efficiently and effectively providing these important child support payment processing services."

Tier operates and partners in operating child support payment centers in nine states, processing more than 31 million child support payments valued at over $3.8 billion annually.
