Atlanta Airport Announces New Security Technology

To better handle explosives and biochemical incidents

The Aug. 9 issue of Atlanta's City Newsbytes said that the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has acquired an explosives response truck and containment technology. The new technology -- including X-Ray machine, robot, protective suits and a remote control and communications console. This equipment, as well as canine detection teams, will enable the airport to better handle explosives and biochemical incidents.

Also, said City Newsbytes The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) nominated the Mayor's Office of Communications for excellence in government programming.
