Project to cover 26 police departments in the Netherlands

ISC, ICT-Service Cooperation Police, Justice and Safety has awarded Intergraph a $3 million contract will spatially enable the geospatial emergency response system for the Netherlands' 26 departments for the police emergency response services, called the Sherpa project.

After a successful pilot project, ISC signed the contract with Intergraph for the delivery of a new geographic information system (GIS) for the emergency control centers. In addition, Intergraph will provide spatial information management applications for analysis, criminal investigation activities and all other emergency control operations of the Dutch police. All other public order and safety departments, such as fire and ambulance services, can use this new system when information is needed.

Gerbrand Landman, board of director's member for Architecture, Innovation and Development at ISC said, "The new geospatial system for the emergency control centers will advance standardization and integration in the Dutch emergency services environment. The system will contribute to the modernization and efficient improvement in our workflow processes."
