Intergraph will implement its computer aided dispatch (CAD) and automatic vehicle location (AVL) solution, enabling the German Border Guards to more efficiently use their staff and vehicles. The CAD digital map will assist officers in performing more effective manhunts; shorten police response times; and alert units and additional staff without any loss of time and information. On final phased-implementation, the total 24 sites will include 350 CAD seats and 1000 AVL-equipped vehicles.
"The Federation of the German Border Guards is a modern police force that makes an essential contribution to homeland security. Maintenance and improvement of the technical equipment of the federal police is a permanent objective of the government in the fight against international terrorism. The necessary budget funds were provided at an early stage. The new Command and Control system will improve the efficiency of the Federal Border Guards and motivate staff," said Mr. Rudolf Koerper, state secretary.
