Mayors Release Second Report to the Nation On Homeland Security Funding
Cities still have not received funds for first responders
The US Conference of Mayors (USCM) today released a report "Tracking Federal Homeland Security Funds Sent to the 50 State Governments" at their annual Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C. According to the USCM survey, as of December 15, federal homeland security funds had not been received from the states by 76 percent of the 215 surveyed cities, although 31 percent of the cities had been notified that funds would be received, but 45 percent had neither received funds nor been notified that they would.
