Providence Mayor to Unveil Public Safety Wireless Mesh Network on Tuesday

Puts critical tools in the hands of first responders

Providence, R.I., Mayor David N. Cicilline will unveil a new $2.3 million wireless mesh public safety communications system on Tuesday Sept. 5 at the Public Safety Complex.

"The mesh networking communications system, developed by Motorola, will enable first responders in the field to access critical information, instantly and securely, from their vehicles, anywhere in the city," according to news on the Providence Web site.
