Description: Sealed proposals for furnishing all materials, labor and equipment for the following described work will be receive by the City Clerk of the City of Chehalis, P.O. Box 871, 80 N.E. Cascade Ave., Chehalis, Washington 98532 up until 11:00 a.m. 4/23/2002. At this time the sealed bids will be publicly opened and read. A contract will be awarded or all bids rejected within 60 days after the bid opening. Project Description The project for which bids will be received consists of three schedules and is described as follows: Schedule A: The work under schedule A will consist of construction of approximately 3,680 linear feet of 27-inch diameter, 200 linear feet of 24-inch diameter, 50 linear feet of 18-inch diameter, 4,490 linear feet of 12-inch diameter, and 135 linear feet of 8-inch PVC sanitary sewer line, including construction of 42-inch, 36-inch, and 24-inch bored steel casings at 6 locations totaling approximately 730 linear feet. Removing and disposing of approximately 6,650 feet of existing 18- and 12inch concrete sewer line. 1 Abandoning in place approximately 4,300 linear feet of 18-inch and 1,950 linear feet of 12-inch concrete sewer. Construction of a total of twenty one (21) 48-inch, forty three (43) 54-inch, one (1) 60-inch, and one (1) 84-inch sanitary sewer manhole, reconnection of approximately 4 sewer services and construction of 5 new sewer services. Bypass pumping as required to maintain sewer service, associated paving, drainage and miscellaneous appurtenances and restoration associated with buried utility construction. Schedule B: Work under schedule .B consists of construction - of approximately 9 -200 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron water main, two, bored .24 steel casing crossings, approximately seventeen 12inch gate valves approximately 25 fire hydrant assemblies, 5 air release valve assemblies, reconnecting approximately 3 water services, connecting to existing water mains at 2 locations, a compound meter and vault, removing existing storm drain culverts disturbed during construction and replacing with new corrugated polyethylene culverts, associated paving, drainage and miscellaneous appurtenances and restoration associated with buried utility construction. Schedule C: The work under schedule C consists of site stabilization including a temporary retaining wall, excavation and disposal of approximately 14,500 cubic yards of material, import of approximately 0,700 tons of material, site drainage and grading, construction of 56'diameter by 28'-tall boltedsteel, glass-lined reservoir and appurtenances, a permanent reservoir foundation dewatering system including electrical and telemetry work, approximately 340 linear feet of 12-inch ductile iron water main, and 470 linear feet of 6-inch ductile iron drainline, associated paving and miscellaneous appurtenances and restoration associated with buried utility construction. All Proposals must be submitted on the regular form furnished with the specifications, and each must be accompanied by a certified or bank check or bidder's bond made payable to the City of Chehalis in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid.
