The wireless network will cover approximately 4 square miles with a mesh "grid". In addition to first responder needs, it can also provide broadband wireless capability to anyone within the coverage grid. The network will be used as a pilot to show the capabilities of the MeshLinx broadband wireless network. Paul Frederiksen the Assistant City Manager is overseeing the six-month pilot project. It is anticipated that the pilot will be installed and ready beginning of July 2005.
