West Virginia Wins Washington Tech Business

Firm will move headquarters from West Coast to further develop biometrics focus

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. ? Gov. Bob Wise and representatives from Limbic Systems Inc. announced today that the company, which applies digital imaging technology to the branches of forensic analysis and verification, plans to move its forensic and security application business headquarters to Morgantown from Bellingham, Wash. and create as many as 35 jobs.

"West Virginia has the power to attract today's most innovative companies," Wise said. "We have the technological infrastructure, the best minds and the brightest future. This is the type of company that will move us forward."

The Monongalia County Development Authority presented Steve Brinn, Limbic Systems president and CEO, with $70,000 from West Virginia's Sunny Day Fund to further the company's efforts to enhance its technology in West Virginia. The Sunny Day Fund helps consummate economic development projects.

"West Virginia is already a player in the exciting biometrics arena," Brinn said. "We welcome the opportunity to continue our mission in a state that welcomes and rewards creative thinking."

Limbic Systems, Inc. provides software for visualization enhancement technology. Its technology aids the analysis of digital images. The company works with numerous law enforcement agencies.
