Yuma Sector Border Patrol Donates Computers to Local Schools & Charities

Local elementary school districts and educational organizations were contacted and asked to submit a letter of interest and describe how the computers would be used in an educational setting.

The Border Patrol's Yuma Sector donated 75 computers to various Yuma area elementary schools and educational organizations Thursday.

The Yuma Sector Border Patrol recently concluded an upgrade of some of its computer systems, which left the sector with 75 excess personal computers. Local elementary school districts and educational organizations were contacted and asked to submit a letter of interest and describe how the computers would be used in an educational setting.

As a result, Yuma Sector was able to donate at least three Dell computers to every elementary school and educational organization that responded.


he Yuma Sector is currently home to about 850 agents and their families.

The Yuma Sector Border Patrol takes part in various community events throughout the calendar year. "Yuma Sector prides itself in being a part of the Yuma community and making a positive impact in the lives of the citizens that live here" said Yuma Sector Public Affairs Supervisor Jeremy Schappell.
