Itasca County Sheriff's Office
(TNS) — The Solano County Office of Emergency Services has launched the "Know Your Zone" campaign to better prepare residents and businesses in all seven Solano County cities for emergencies and evacuations.

Residents can enter their address into an interactive map on Zonehaven AWARE, which will open a pop-up window that includes the address' zone name and information about that zone.

"Residents and businesses should record the names of all the zones they frequent — such as home, work, school, or homes of loved ones — and keep them in a visible place," officials said in a City of Vacaville press release.

By clicking the "Subscribe to Alerts" button under the "Community Links" tab, you can sign up to receive emergency alerts through ALERT Solano.

Zone names will be used in these alerts, which is why knowing what zone you live and work in is vital.

In the event of an emergency, first responders and public safety officials will use Zonehaven AWARE to help with informing the community of evacuation orders.

Zone statuses and evacuation orders will be published on Zonehaven AWARE and notifications will be sent through ALERT Solano.

The Zonehaven AWARE platform allows Solano County residents to see up-to-date information about their specific zone.
