(TNS) — Access to Pennsylvania’s online courts portal is limited on Monday after a weekend cyber attack, officials said.

Portions of the Unified Judicial System (UJS) portal — a public database providing access to criminal and civil docket sheets and schedules for upcoming court appearances — are unavailable due to a “denial of service cyber attack,” according to the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts.

In a Sunday night news release, the AOPC said, “A denial of service cyber attack occurs when malicious actors flood the targeted host or network with traffic until the target cannot respond or simply crashes, preventing access for legitimate users.”

“Our court information technology and executive team is working closely with law enforcement including the CISA, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the FBI to investigate the incident,” Chief Justice of Pennsylvania Debra Todd said in the news release.

The AOPC said no court data is believed to have been compromised during the cyber attack, which was discovered on Sunday. The attack is affecting use of PACFile, the use of online docket sheets, PAePay, and the Guardianship Tracking System.

Pennsylvania courts will be open to the public on Monday while the attack is investigated.
