"Shadow IT" is a new buzzword -- and it means employees buying their own apps and using them at work.
And a startup that launched last week called Skyhigh Networks helps IT departments discover these shadow apps, Business Insider reported. This way, IT departments can stop or control them.
A handful of Fortune 2,000 companies are in beta with the company, including Cisco and General Electric, and based on the work done with these companies thus far, Skyhigh has compiled a list of the top 50 shadow IT apps that employees use at work, the top five of which are above.
