Which news outlet is going all-in when it comes to virtual reality?

Answer: CNN

As print media continues its decline and digital media picks up, many high-profile news outlets are taking their coverage a step further — over the last year, the Economist, The Huffington Post and The New York Times have all joined the virtual reality (VR) game and created their own 360-degree video content. And on Tuesday, March 7, CNN joined the ranks by adding 360-degree video to its mobile apps and website, and recently launched a VR app on Google's Daydream headset.

In the coming days, the network plans to use the medium to take viewers into an operating room to experience the separation of conjoined twins.

“We are trying to give you access to places that are incredibly rare,” CNN Vice President Jason Farkas told Variety.
