How can you play with your pet even when you’re not home?

Answer: Pebby

If you’ve ever wondered what your pet is doing while you’re at work, and thought a nanny cam might be going a little overboard, a new high-tech toy might be just the trick.

Pebby is a smart ball that matches to a smart collar and pairs with a smartphone app. The ball uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to let you remotely control the ball, rolling it for your dog from wherever you are. A wide-angle camera lets you keep an eye on them while you’re away and share any photos or videos to social media.

You can also use Pebby to talk to your pet via a pre-recorded message (or just a good old “bark” or “meow”), and the Pebby Collar syncs with the ball to track your pet’s activity. Made from durable polycarbonate plastic, Pebby was designed for use by both dogs and cats, and includes a built-in laser to entice even lazy felines. Made by a Santa Clara, Calif.-based startup, Pebby is currently seeking funding through a Kickstarter (although they’ve already more than quadrupled their original $50,000 goal).
