How did a homeless man recently win $100,000?
Answer: by spotting two escaped inmates
Hossein Nayeri, Jonathan Tieu and Bac Duong escaped from Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana, Calif., on Jan. 22 and had managed to escape detection until a homeless man in San Francisco — Matthew Hay-Chapman — recognized two of the men after having seen their photos on conservative news website The Drudge Report. His tip led to the arrest of two of the men, and won him an award of $100,000.
