The reason for this, according to Mashable, comes down to primitive agricultural practices. Farmers rely on decades-old techniques, and the concept of large, monitored dairy farms is almost nonexistent. They also fail to utilize technology, which is commonly done in the West (cows in the United States, for instance, average about 8.5 gallons per day).
This is where the Cowlar comes in.
The startup says that its wearable for cows (and buffalo) helps farmers increase milk yields by up to 15 percent by indicating the animals' temperature (and when they might be in heat and ready for insemination), therefore ready to produce more milk.
