It costs upward of $3,500 to bring one military dog home from overseas, which means that rather than coming home to the U.S., many of these animals are put down while abroad to save money.
To combat this inhumanity, Puppy Rescue Mission has raised more than $1.5 million for the sole purpose of bringing home the canines that have served our country. So far, the nonprofit has rescued more than 400 military pups -- and they've done so by using Facebook and other social media sites to raise the money, Forbes reported.
