What does a new smartphone app allow users to scan and identify?
Answer: pills
A new mobile app called TruScan uses cloud-based image recognition software to allow users on medication to identify what kind of pill they’re holding. Using functionality called TruSpeak, the app can recite in 52 spoken languages to the user what type of medication was scanned. The app is being marketed toward patients with visual impairments that might make it difficult to see what type of medication they are handling. The app could remove confusion for such patients and ensure they take their correct medication.
