Indiana University houses Big Red II, a supercomputer that's capable of operating at a peak rate of one petaFLOPS, or one thousand trillion floating-point operations per second, according to the university -- and it's the fastest supercomputer owned by a university in the nation.
Big Red II will help scientists and scholars accelerate breakthroughs in fields that are "changing the way Hoosiers live, work, learn and grow," according to a press release.
Indiana University is holding a ceremony to dedicate the new supercomputer on Friday, April 26.
