Answer: time machine
Users of Google Maps Street View can now take tour through space and time. The new feature, called time machine, allows users to switch from newer images collected by Google to older sets collected as long ago as 2007.
Google Street View Product Manager Vinay Shet told The Guardian that the new offering will allow users to see how landmarks have changed over the years.
"This new feature can also serve as a digital timeline of recent history, like the reconstruction after the devastating 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Onagawa, Japan,” he said. “You can even experience different seasons and see what it would be like to cruise Italian roadways in both summer and winter.”
