What percentage of adults get their news via social media?
Answer: 62 percent
A study from Pew Research published May 26 found that a majority of adults — 62 percent — find news via social media. This is an increase from similar survey results in 2012, which found just 49 percent of adults with the same behavior. Reddit, Facebook and Twitter topped the list, and as government seeks to reach its constituents on their chosen platforms, it makes more sense than ever for it to increase social media engagement.
