How does the White House want to handle America’s growing elder population?

On July 13, the White House held its Conference on Aging, a seven-hour event streamed online and discussed on Twitter with the hashtag #WHCOA.

 

 

Conference participants, who include the White House Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, discussed issues like how to reduce the cost of caring for older generations and how to keep them connected. Technologies enabling telehealth and interpersonal communications are important for everyone, but especially for a population of people ages 75 and over – who account for billions in medical treatment each year.
