A man spent $51,000 on a giant computer that performs what single task?

Answer: plays Tetris

A computer built by a 55-year-old British software engineer over a five-year period can't do anything but play Tetris.

“If I had a wife she’d probably have left me by now,” James Newman toldThe Huffington Post. The computer wasn't designed for its power, which is millions of times less than a typical laptop today, but instead for its visual and educational appeal.

The engineer said he plans to open his house to the public so people can see the machine and kids can learn about computers and electronics. Eventually, Newman would like if it ended up in a museum or on a road tour.
