How does BikeScout help keep bicyclists safe in cities?

Answer: with flashing lights

BikeScout is a bicycle detection system for crosswalks that alerts drivers to the presence of nearby bicyclists who may not be visible but will soon cross the street. The technology is now being piloted in Eindhoven, Netherlands, as part of a road safety system that monitors bicyclists as far as 160 feet away. The system tracks the speed and direction of the riders, and then turns on the lights when it appears they are headed toward the road.
