What technologies will China use to monitor its pollution levels?

Answer: satellites and drones

China plans to build a network of land-, air- and water-based drones by 2020 that use sensors to relay environmental data back to the government. Two satellites with high-resolution monitoring will also be added to the network in addition to two existing satellites, Eco-Business reported. The data collected will help the nation better understand its patterns, identify hazy days as they’ve done in the past, and guide policy that might assist China in making its way off the list of nations with the worst air pollution levels. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), only 12 percent of people who live in WHO-monitored cities are breathing air that meets the organization’s standards.
