How is Coca-Cola delivering Wi-Fi to communities in South Africa?
Answer: through old Coke machines
Coca-Cola South Africa, Coca-Cola Fortune and BT Global Services partnered to launch a project aimed at bringing Internet access to underserved areas in South Africa. The project, part of BT’s Better Future program, will use old coke machines as Wi-Fi stations, beginning in two locations -- Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga and Qunu, Eastern Cape. Both locations are reportedly near busy areas with schools and shopping centers. The service will be provided for free, and is tentatively planned for expansion to more communities.
