How is the U.S. Department of Agriculture dealing with the scourge known as the pink bollworm?

Answer: moth cannons

According to an official video, the USDA is "investigating" using drones equipped with moth-filled cannons as a way to get rid of the occasional pink bollworm outbreaks that reduce cotton crop yields. The moths, which are sterile, mate with the bollworms, producing no offspring and consequently lowering the pests' numbers. The USDA found that the drones, which were remotely piloted by people, were as good at the job as aircraft with humans on board. The drones were also found to be cheaper and more nimble.
