What is Google’s new "secret" project?

Answer: A headset that combines virtual and augmented reality.

Per a report by Engadget, Google is working on a standalone device that will combine both virtual and augmented reality that wouldn't need to be connected to a smartphone or computer to operate. The headset would reportedly use eye-tracking software and map out real-world locations in front of the user.

Other tech companies have been working on headset devices that augment reality or are completely immersive with virtual reality. However, it seems as if Google shares the same view as Apple CEO Tim Cook and Microsoft that 100 percent virtual reality cannot substitute for actual human interaction.
