"Today's decision will open huge bands of licensed and unlicensed wireless bandwidth to enable super-fast wireless and Wi-Fi," research group NYU Wireless said in a prepared statement. "Carriers will be encouraged to serve dense areas with more bandwidth and enable broadband service to areas currently unprofitable to reach."
CITA, the Wireless Association, said the proposed rules will help the U.S. remain a mobile leader as nations push their wireless capabilities forward.
