What is Colorado doing with all the marijuana money it's raking in?

Answer: paying for school

Starting 2017, Coloradan high school graduates will be eligible for a new scholarship funded by the state's marijuana tax, having legalized the drug for recreational use in 2012.

On Nov. 3, voters in Pueblo County approved a measure that will phase in a 5 percent tax increase on marijuana growers by 2020 to fund college scholarships and community programs. The county expects to raise $3.5 million with this increase, and at least half of that income is expected to go toward scholarships.
