What town is considering naming two new roads Emoji Street and Meme Street?

Sitting about 35 miles west of the Finnish capital Helsinki, Lohja city officials are trying to prove how cool they are by naming two streets Emojikatu and Meemikatu, which translates to Emoji and Meme Street in Finnish.

In an interview (site in Finnish), architect and town planner Juha Anttila said, “We wanted something that speaks to modern times. We have almost run out of plant, tree and bird names in our area.”

The plan has already been approved by the City Council, but feedback is being gathered from the community. If locals don't object to the proposal, then it will go into effect in the New Year.
