New York City is to begin experimenting with what this week?
Answer: Uber car pooling
Piloted in Paris and San Francisco earlier this year, the ride-sharing service is expanding its car-pooling feature, called UberPool. Passengers traveling roughly along the same routes can share a driver with cost cuts of 20 to 50 percent. The feature is to be offered initially only to Apple device users in all five boroughs of the city on Dec. 4. Android users will get a chance to try the feature on Dec. 8, and if things go well, the rest of the country may get a chance in 2015.
